Australian blues and rock band featuring singer-songwriter and saxophonist Joe Camilleri (aka 'Jo Jo Zep'). They recorded their first single with the band's original lineup at the iconic TCS Studios in Richmond in July 1976. The Falcons, along with bands such as The Sports and Skyhooks, were considered one of the major stars of the Carlton scene around this time period.
The Falcons dissolved in 1981 and the group's biggest Australian hit, 'Taxi Mary' (1982) and the New Zealand top ten hit 'Walk on By' were both credited simply to 'Jo Jo Zep'.
In 1983, Camilleri and other members of the Falcons formed the Black Sorrows.
The band has intermittently reformed for particular occasions since 2001.
