BiographyHistory

Australian musician and journalist. Best known as singer-songwriter for country rock band Country Radio (1970-1973). Prior to forming Country Radio, he had run The Shack, a folk venue at Narrabeen on Sydney's Northern Beaches.

Quill was one of the first Australian rock musicians to be awarded a grant by the Australian Council for the Arts, and for some years travelled between Toronto and Sydney. In Toronto, he headed a band called Southern Cross with other expatriate Australian musicians: Sam See (Sherbert, Flying Circus, Fraternity, Lighthouse), Chris Stockley(Cam-Pact, Axiom, The Dingoes), and Bruce Worrall (Sherbert).

He later settled in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, where he was an entertainment columnist for the Toronto Star.
