— Appears in: The Rocks Remain : Blak Poetry and Story 2024; (p. 15-24) This story is about Luke, an Aboriginal volunteer fire-fighter. During a series of terrible bushfires, Luke struggles with the demands of the farmers who are concerned more about protecting their fences from bushfires than they are about the wildlife trying to escape the fires.
