BiographyHistory

'From a young age Kylie was torn between three careers: writing, dancing and law.

'In her early twenties, she was fortunate enough to experience all three at university but a severe injury in the midst of her dance degree forced a change of direction to journalism and from there her writing career began.

'She completed a Bachelor of Arts (Journalism) degree at Queensland University of Technology in 2000 and joined the ABC as an online journalist in the old Toowong studios the following year. Since then she worked as a news journalist at the Gladstone newsroom in Central Queensland and producer at the Sunshine Coast bureau where she is currently the cross media reporter.

'Career highlights include working at the Sydney Olympics and winning awards at the Queensland Media Awards in 2000 and 2003.

'Kylie enjoys photography, family time, the beach, shopping, friends, music, dancing and freelance writing. She tries to enjoy exercise and cooking but that's perhaps a life-long quest.' (https://www.abc.net.au/news/kylie-bartholomew/7377142)
