She is one of the co-founders of the Love@ECU Research Network. Madalena’s area of interest and research is in sexuality, intimate relationships, and interpersonal violence. Her work and therapeutic orientation is informed by the role of dysfunctional attachments in adult sexuality and intimacy, as well as the role of sexual socialisation, attitudes and beliefs and how these contribute to the intergenerational cycle of intimate partner violence, areas she has recently published in.'
