Fazulbhoy Visram's (1855-1913) illustrated travel narrative A Khoja's Tour in Australia, was reprinted from articles that were published in the Times of India. Visram stated his intention to inform and introduce Indian gentlemen to visiting their valuable neighbouring country. Visram noted the hospitality and great courtesy which he received during his stay in Melbourne, beautiful Sydney and Adelaide. In his illustration of the colonies, Visram described how impressed he was with picturesque and European Adelaide where the colonists looked healthy, the European attractiveness of Melbourne, the beauty of Sydney harbour and how the youths were "specimens of good English breeding." Visram clearly enjoyed his travels through Australia, and the narrative was presented in an entertaining and conversational manner.
