'The author reflects on the meaning of the freedom to write in Australia. Topics discussed include the significance of the freedom to think and to consider oneself as a free being to the ability to write with freedom, effect of the libel laws and national security laws on freedom of speech in the country, and the importance of learning to be free and accepting heresy for writers who aim to write about hope and love.'
