BiographyHistory

Alois Kuaso was born in Hahniak Village, Kubalia, Yangoru Sussia District in the Sepik region of Papua New Guinea. Alois studied Social Anthropology and Archaeology at the University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG 1997) and graduated with Post Graduate Diploma in Archaeology Australian National University (ANU 2007). In 1998, he became the Curator for Traditional Sites at the PNG National Museum and Art Gallery. Alois was made Chief Curator of Prehistory at the Museum in 2016 and same appointed Deputy Director of Science, Research and Consultancy Division and in 2017 made Acting Director of museum (2017-2018). He is now the Deputy Director for Science Research and Consultancy Division. Alois has extensive archaeological fieldwork experience in PNG.
