19th-Century Australian Travel Writing
James Currie, Jun. (M.A. Cantab) detailed his global tour between March 1889 and August 1890 in Notes of Travel (For Private Circulation) Letters sent Home from South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and North America. The work was a publication of the author's letters sent home whilst he was on his travels. Currie describes his extensive tourist trips undertaken throughout the majority of the Australian colonies, with the exception of Western Australia. He compares the differences in social types in each colony that he visited.
