    About the poem:

This poem is 100% true, and is based on an epic pair of Mazdevallia earrings that I was given earlier this year. Refusal gets a bad rap in modern society – we’re constantly encouraged to embrace, to confirm and affirm – but there’s a real thrill to saying no, flat-out, without preamble or explanation. It was great fun for me to bring these two things together – the bright, wild earrings and the sheer joy of saying fuck no.
