'Anne Di Lauro grew up in Brisbane where she obtained a B.A. from the University of Queensland and a Dip Lib from the University of NSW. After working at the State Library of Queensland for two years, she headed overseas. She lived in both Europe and North America where she worked for national and international development agencies.
