Dr Mathew Trinca was appointed as Director of the National Museum of Australia in 2014: the appointment was subsequently extended until 2024. He joined the museum as a senior curator in 2003, and had previously worked at the Western Australian Museum in Perth, as well as on public history projects.
He holds a PhD from the University of Sydney.
