'Chando was born in Budapest. In 1956, when she was two, her family fled the Soviet regime and arrived in London as asylum seekers. She was educated in London and Cambridge, then volunteered in India on a rural health programme. While in India she became a disciple or sannyasin of the mystic Osho. For the next 12 years she lived and worked in sannyas communities in India, England and USA. In 1995 Chando graduated as an Osteopath in London. She arrived in Tasmania on a working holiday, liked it, stayed.'
