AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'Veil Of Iron begins with the German invasion of the USSR in 1941. A group of friends hurry to volunteer. War takes Svetlana on a bloody road to fame as a sniper. Stepan joins Stalin’s NKVD, already known for its enforcement of communist rule. For Valentina war means a posting as a medic to Murmansk in Arctic Russia, where she has a wartime romance with Ronnie, a British Royal Navy officer. Victory, when it finally comes does not mean peace for the survivors. As the Iron Curtain descends across Europe and former allies become enemies, friends and lovers will be divided.'
