AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'The Snake Around My Heart: A Memoir Of Adoption And Rediscovery, is a moving and often humorous account of one woman’s reunion with her son, and with herself.

'Winter 1969: In Sydney, Lee contemplates her future as she sits in her high school hall watching Neil Armstrong take man’s first step on the moon. She hasn’t told her parents yet that she’s pregnant.

'Winter 1992: In Oyster Cove, Tasmania, Lee, now a single mother with a seven-year old daughter, is reeling from two recent setbacks in her life. She receives a late-night phone call that will shake up her world even further and make the next nine months of her life very interesting.'
