BiographyHistory

'Briony Neilson is a historian specialised in the history of criminal justice in modern France, including French penal colonisation in New Caledonia. Her work has been published in various journals and she has taught both History and Criminology at the University of Sydney and UNSW. She is affiliated with the Centre for the Digital Humanities and the History of Justice in Paris, and is editor of French History & Civilization, the journal of the George Rudé Society.
