AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'My Brilliant Career is the classic novel written by Australian female writer Miles Franklin. The heroine Sybylla was a unique woman who was brave enough to challenge the traditional value of marriage and gender limitation. In Sybylla's world, woman was the appendage of man. However, with dream in heart, Sybylla acted like a warrior, fighting against the cruel reality, which fostered her twisted personality. The female consciousness of Sybylla still enjoys its fame today for its indelible contribution to the Australian literature.
