'Ada Cambridge is a well-known poet, novelist, journalist, and biographer in colonial Australia, who plays an important role in literary field of colonial Australia. However, at that time, female literature was scorned and regarded as "anomaly" by traditional literary critics; undoubtedly, Ada was grouped as a singular "anomaly" , facing such a terrible plight. This paper aims at exploring the subjects discussed in Ada's works, through which the conclusion can be drawn that Ada is a great and bold female writer in colonial Australia.'
