Notes

  • The Road of Forty Bends is the name given by western motor-men to the span from the top of the Pass at Mount Victoria to the old toll-house near Bowenfels. The "writing on the wall" refers to a rough inscription on the rocks at the Pass recording the escape of a convict from the road-gang.
