CHASS defines the Australia Prizes as follows:
The Australia Prizes honour distinguished achievements by Australians working, studying, or training in the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (HASS) sector, including academics, researchers, practitioners, philanthropists, policy makers, and students.
Only the Australia Book Prize and the Prize for Distinctive Work are individually indexed on AustLit: other prices include the Future Leader Prize and a student prize.
