Richard Hyde was a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Architecture at The University of Queensland before becoming Director at UQ's Centre for Sustainable Design. He made the move to The University of Sydney, where has has worn many academic hats, including serving as Acting Dean of Research. He is now holds the Honorary Chair for Architectural Science there.
'Sustainable architectural design emerged in the latter half of the 20th century as major determinant in shaping the natureof building design, research and practice. Professor Hyde’s research is based on the notion that the social and culturalchange to a more sustainable future is a journey, which involves transformation of current economic, social andenvironmental theory and practice.'
