Jaja Dare and Jonas Dare are owners of an art gallery at Port Augusta. They are helping to repair part of the Seven Sisters songline that runs through Australia and preserve it for the Stolen Generations and future generations.
'Jaja is a Wiradjuri woman and multidisciplinary manager with an aptitude for innovation. Before joining the IRCA team, Jaja was the Label Operations Manager for the CAAMA Music Record Label. She managed the recording of artists and the national marketing campaigns for the album releases, engaging in strong industry relationships. Jaja won the National Indigenous Music Award (NIMA) for designing the Album Cover Art of the Year for CAAMA’s premier artist Gawurra.
Jaja's extensive experience spans event, project and arts management, marketing, cultural consultation, digital promotion, art direction and graphic design within the music, festival, arts and not-for-profit sectors. Prior to her move to Alice Springs, Jaja worked with the Papunya Tjupi art centre to develop their marketing strategy and public profile. Previous positions include Aboriginal Marketing & Events Coordinator for the Saltwater Freshwater Festival and Graphic Designer for Sydney’s renowned advertising agency M&C Saatchi.'
