    The title 'A Man Totally Alone' derives from the Nordic saga Hervarar saga ok Heiðreks konungs  and a passage translated by Todd B. Krause and Jonathan Slocum as:

    Foolish he seems to me, who goes there,
    a man totally alone, through dark night…
