Kirsty Marillier is a South African-Australian actor and writer. She has been based variously in Perth, Sydney and Melbourne.
Marillier has studied a Bachelor of Arts at Curtin University and acting at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA). She has acted both on stage and in television, including in a brief role in Home and Away. In 2018, she was part of Sport for Jove Theatre Company's winter ensemble season.
Marillier's autobiography was published in Growing Up African in Australia. In late 2019, she won the prestigious Rodney Seaborn Playwrights Award for her play-in-development, The Orange Thrower. Her play The Zap was developed by Belvoir and Playwriting Australia as part of Darlinghurst Theatre Company's development program for 2020, with dramaturg Louise Gough, director Courtney Stewart, and actors including Henrietta Amevor, Vivienne Awosoga, Daniel Gabriel, Yerin Ha, Michelle Ny, Patrick Jhanur, and Angela Sullen. It won the 2020 Max Afford Award.
