'A gloriously upbeat LGBTQI+ novel of love, hope and friendship — showing that although it’s not always rainbows and fireflies, life’s too short to be anyone but yourself…

'It started with a kiss…as love stories often do. Jesse Andrews had the arms of a Greek god and he was on the track team. The night of our kiss fell on a Friday.

'Then, only a few days later, Fin’s world is turned upside down — and not in a good head-over-heels-in-love way — when Jesse cruelly outs him. An event which ultimately leads to his family leaving town.

'But a fresh start isn’t going to change the truth of who Fin is. And it’s not going to stop his sexuality causing everyone all sorts of problems. Everyone, that is, apart from his new best friend Poppy, her girlfriend-in-waiting June, and his latest crush Rye…So, while Fin and Rye are enjoying some seriously intimate moonlit moments together, Fin’s parents decide to pack him off to the local ReSouled ‘therapy camp’.

'It’s a nightmare — and there’s no easy way out. Can Fin’s squad hatch a plan outrageous enough to spring him before the ‘conversion’ acolytes force him onto the straight and narrow?' (Publication summary)

1 y separately published work icon Pink Ink : Life's Too Short To Be Anything But Yourself Harry Cook , Sydney : HarperCollins Australia , 2018 15484039 2018 single work autobiography

'Harry Cook was born in the UK but moved to Australia when he was 10. He began acting in his early teens and soon scored a breakthrough role opposite Academy Award winner Geena Davis at age 17. He has since starred in various TV shows, films and theatre productions both nationally and internationally.

'In 2013, at age 22 and after years of struggling with his sexuality, Harry came out publicly to his fans on YouTube. At the time, Harry feared the impact his coming out would have on his career, but knew he had to be true to himself. The video went viral overnight and Harry became front page news in Australia, the UK and the USA. Since coming out, Harry has been at the forefront of LGBTQI Activism both nationally and internationally.

'Pink Ink is a memoir of Harry's life, his career in show business, his intense battle with addiction and ultimately his resilience and push to find acceptance within himself.

'The book spans across Harry's life from moving to Australia to landing his first major film role, travelling to the Maldives to shoot a surf thriller movie (without being able to surf), attending the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City for his first world movie premiere; and also the darker days of coming out, his severe battle with alcoholism and addiction and his time in a rehab facility at age 19.' (Publication summary)
