AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'In Chaos in the Cookhouse, Tasmanian Kylie Whiddon, has just arrived in the outback as the newest recruit of the Outback Detective Police Department, formed by the conservative federal government to fight crime in remote Australia.
'Within minutes of arriving, Kylie is on her first case. Shearers' cook, Raelene MacKennel, has been found dead in the cookhouse at Desert Downs, her head caved in with a cast iron skillet. As the investigation progresses, Kylie struggles to find a motive. Roger the Rousie and Trevor the wool presser, appear to have been in the wrong place at the right time. But why would Frank the Barefoot Shearer want to kill Raelene? And what does property owner, Mitch have to do with the shearers' dead cook?' (Publication summary)
