American academic, whose work examines Indigenous film-making in the Kimberley. In 2018, Lempert completed his PhD from the University of Colorado: 'Palya Futures: The Social Life of Kimberley Aboriginal Media' was based on ethnographic work in the Kimberley, begun in 2006. He has also published work on Indigenous futurism, including Aboriginal works.
