'Matilda Langley is a beautiful young woman living with her family in the highlands of Tasmania in the 1850s. She falls in love with a sea captain and ends up with child. Disowned by her father, she flees the family farm. She is waylaid by two masked men. While escaping from the men she falls over a cliff.
