'Gillian Arrighi is Senior Lecturer in Creative and Performing Arts at the University of Newcastle. Her research focuses on popular entertainments of the late-nineteenth and early-twentieth centuries, child actors, and actor training. She convenes the Popular Entertainments Working Group of the International Federation for Theatre Research (IFTR) and is Editor of the scholarly e-journal, Popular Entertainment Studies.
