AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'As the extinction of the human race looms, three women cycle for our lives.

'An exciting contemporary work blending narrative, durational exertion, science and technology, Oil Babies explores the complexities of our relationship to both climate change and the female body.

'Blending lyrical, rapid-fire text with poetic imagery and domestic drama, Oil Babies is a dangerous, pithy and at times comedic work that speaks directly to the concerns we hold now.

'Written and directed by Petra Kalive and featuring an all-female cast, Oil Babies re-positions our lives as one on the precipice of a planet dramatically changing – and perhaps the moment before our own extinction.'
