AbstractHistoryArchive Description

Standing at the summit of Cooper’s Hill in England, Stephanie Chiocci prepares to barrel down a slope steeper than the MCG grandstands. But winning the annual Gloucester Cheese-Rolling Race is just one of her objectives.

'The Collingwood AFLW captain has also taken it upon herself to save the family cheese-making business of one of her biggest fans. To do so Stephanie must defeat local toff Neville O’Shea in one of the world’s most dangerous foot races.

'Full of humour and action, the book contains many football references, words and skills but also sees Stephanie Chiocci using her football skills outside a game situation and being a role model for girls.

'Released to coincide with the 2018 AFLW season, the book stars four-time All-Australian and captain of the Collingwood team, Stephanie Chiocci.

'Women’s and girl’s football is experiencing a surge in popularity on the back of the AFLW. The official AFL website reports 53,409 girls participated in Auskick programs in 2016, an increase of 21%. There are now 983 female community club teams.

'Features a question and answer section with Stephanie Chiocci, her major achievements and tips from her on how to execute football skills.

'The Collingwood Football Club has a huge supporter base with over 75,000 members.' (Publication summary)
