BiographyHistory

Brian Ritchie came to fame as the bassist in and co-founder of American folk punk band the Violent Femmes, active from 1980 to 2009, and internationally famous, particularly, in the mid to late 1990s.

In 2008, Ritchie and wife Varuni Kulasekera moved to Hobart, where he continued to perform as a musician, but also began work with MONA (Museum of New and Old Art) where, in 2018, he was Music Curator.
