Academic and fiction writer.
Born and raised in Indonesia, she lived in the United States for 11 years before moving to Australia.
She holds a PhD in Cinema Studies from New York University (2014), an MA (University of California San Diego), and a BA (University of Indonesia) in English Literature, and in 2018 was working as a lecturer in media and film studies at Macquarie University. She has also taught at Sarah Lawrence College (USA) and the University of Indonesia.
As an academic, she publishes on media, cultural activism, and sexual politics. As a fiction writer, she has published short stories and drama in Indonesian. In 2018, Brow Books published a collection of her short stories as Apple and Knife.
