Dispute over the authorship of the script for this film ended in arbitration with the Writers Guild of America, who ruled that American script-writers Matthew Berry and Eric Abrams were the sole authors of the work, over Paul Hogan's claims to have written the original script (and therefore be eligible for sole writing credit).
