AbstractHistoryArchive Description

 '1944, a small collection of poems titled Out of the Depths originating from the Warsaw Ghetto before its annihilation by the Nazis, reached the West. A metal box containing more poems was found in 1945 buried under the cellar of a ruined Warsaw building. Echoes: Poems of the Holocaust contains Marcel Weyland’s translations of some of these poems as well as his translations of other Polish poets writing about the Holocaust.'
