Notes

  • Author's note: During the winter of 1916 in Central West New South Wales, a special troop train came through Molong, carrying soldiers of 117th Battalion, Australian Infantry Force, who had enlisted from the districts reaching from this town all the way to the Far West. These few survivors of Gallipoli had been given ten days of home leave before embarking for the trenches in Europe.
