AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'The year 1082. Southern China. Three pieces of meat are found rotting in the Examinations Hall of the city. They are dismembered body parts. Using authentic forensic techniques actually used in the period, the Sheriff probes the mystery with the help of his young assistant Fu Chen. Together they investigate the rich extraordinary world of medieval China – a world of eunuchs, drunken poets, prostitutes, sage calligraphers and mad Zen monks.'
