BiographyHistory

'Mary Charles was a fluent Nyul Nyul speaker, a language spoken in the Kimberley region of Western Australia in the area around Beagle Bay Mission. Mary was taught by the nuns at the mission school until she was fifteen. It was her hope that the Beagle Bay children learned to speak Nyul Nyul language fluently.' (Source : Magabala Books website)
