AbstractHistoryArchive Description

One of Keith Taylor's longest-running characters, Nasach the Firbolg (or Fir Bolg) is an escaped slave, who sails in an attempt to return home. In Irish mythology, the Fir Bolg (which Taylor renders as the alternative Firbolg) are the fourth group of people to settle in Ireland: descended from the wandering Muintir Nemid, they are themselves overthrown by the invading Tuatha Dé Danann. Though the Fir Bolg are generally read as myth, some scholars associate them with the Belgae, tribes from northern Gaul.

Nasach is presented as a dark-haired, blue-eyed giant.

Unlike Taylor's other stories about ongoing characters (such as Kamose the Magician and Felimid mac Fal), the Nasach stories have not been collected. This list is not considered comprehensive.
