BiographyHistory

Kahl Monticone (b. 20/10/80) is a musician and artist from Brisbane, Australia. Ongoing suites of short-form poetry have developed slowly from the more lyrical, text-based aspects of his music practice. In May 2016, Monticone collaborated with fellow Brisbane poet Nathan Shepherdson in a closing event for painter Arryn Snowball’s retrospective show ‘House of Breath’ at the Caboolture Regional Art Gallery. Since 2004, Kahl has worked part-time at Rockinghorse Records, Queensland’s oldest and largest independent record store. His current musical project, jive canyon, will be playing regularly throughout 2017 and will often incorporate elements of spoken-word performance. His most recent solo album, Monkey-Flower-Shell, may be heard at duskdarter.bandcamp.com Email. kmonticone@hotmail.com
