BiographyHistory

Sharon Willdin is an award-winning writer, who writes across genres and refuses to give into the notion that writers have to limit themselves to a certain style and market. She has been published nationally and internationally in journals such as Brooklyn Review, Antithesis Journal, Spineless Wonders: Time Anthology, Anamesa Journal, Weekend Australian, Open Thought Vortex and 101 Words.

She was a finalist for the 2017 Joanne Burns Microlit Award, was nominated for the 2017 Woollahra Digital Literary Award, and won the 2015 Olga Masters Short Story Award.

In 2018, Willdin took part in a panel podcast discussion for the Digital Writers' Festival, on Writing through Isolation: the discussion also included Heather Roan Day and Erin Stewart.

Clowns Anonymous, a film she wrote and produced, premiered at the Noosa International Film Festival in October 2017. It was also chosen as a finalist in the Wollongong Film Festival 2017, and selected for the Short to the Point International Film Festival 2018, 'Show us Your Shorts' Warburton Film Festival 2018, the Portland Comedy Film Festival 2018, and the Melbourne Underground Film Festival 2018.

In 2019, her short story 'Satellites' was awarded third prize in the Henry Lawson Memorial and Literary Society Award

In addition to works individually indexed on AustLit, Sharon Willdin has also published flash fiction for 101 Words (see Notes).
