'Hassan examines the works of Australian author David Malouf. He says that Malouf's work remains various, as inward with the shimmering landscapes of Australia (Fly Away Peter) as with the shadowy corners of European history (Child's Play). Hassan further adds that though Malouf is an Australian author of Lebanese extraction, who has set the pace for writers down under, he also serves as a measure of literary value everywhere.'
