Dr Alex Philp is a Brisbane-based writer, having completed her Doctor of Philosophy at the Queensland University of Technology. Philp has research experience in gothic theory and spatial analysis. Her PhD thesis explored the limitations and possibilities of reimagining the sister relationship as Gothic in fiction.
She won the Rachel Funari Prize for fiction in 2017 for her short story 'Pools 2007' which she adapted into a short film (Pools) that premiered in 2020 at Flickerfest.
