Australian animation artist and author of graphic novels.
Maier's early comic work appeared in Queensland publications Platinum Grit, Groovy Gravy, and DeeVee. She was also editor for Kinetic Comics.
She began her animation career in 1988 as a colourist on the animated series Alf, and started in comics colouring Zooniverse by Fil Barlow (an Adelaide-born artist) in 1986.
In 1996, Maier and Fil Barlow started animation design studio Artopia in Los Angeles: Maier was president of the company from 1996 to 2010. The company supplied character designs for such projects as ProjectGeeker, Extreme Ghostbusters, MIB, Godzilla, Max Steel, Starship Troopers: Roughneck Chronicles, Heavy Gear, Rusty and the Big Guy, and Tutenstein.
As of 2016, Maier was based in Melbourne, where she was writer and director of publishing company Zoonitoons.
