On current-day Earth, mysterious and rapid genetic evolution has led to the emergence of superheroes from the population. Led by telepath Jack, the Watch are a team of superhero mercenaries.

    Volume1

    1. In Media Res (March 2000)

    The newly formed super group THE WATCH are ambushed by a group of gunrunners they have been tracking. The team soon dispatch with the gunrunner's henchmen, but when their ringleader is cornered, he spontaneously disintegrates, mysteriously leaving a single word etched on his chest - TYPHON. This provides them with the lead they need to uncover a conspiracy that will lead to the highest level of corporate power and world government. This first issue also deals with the media coverage and events leading up to the public defeat of The Law Brigade.

    2. Down Below (September 2000)

    The Watch uncover more secrets relating to the death of The Law Brigade and discover clues as to the whereabouts of its last surviving member Mark Bellten, known by the media as Bolt. In this issue we learn some of the origins of The Watch and why and how they have all been brought together by the mysterious psychic of "unrateable" class, their self-assumed leader, Jack. Forces of evil are also afoot as the conspiracy behind the creation and deployment of the creature known as TYPHON unfolds.

    3. Smash It Up (December 2000)

    While The Watch try to unravel the motives behind the actions of the government agents, the agents send The Damned to destroy them. The Damned trace The Watch, and attack them at Fallout's apartment. During the vicious battle, Jack must directly manipulate Xenia's powers to teleport them to a safehouse. Once there he tells the group that the UN is starting a war on superhumans and it's up to them to save Bolt. So they teleport to a holding facility owned by "Tanaka", a mysterious corporation who are holding the injured super, only to find that the government agents have prepared for their arrival.

    4. Damn Nation (February 2001)

    Having just encountered Typhon outside the Tanaka holding facility, Jack leaves the rest of THE WATCH to fight the creature while he searches inside for the injured Bolt. Once inside, he encounters proof that the conspiracy to kill Supers may have a much grander origin and goal than previously thought.

    Volume 2

    1. A Rove and a Ruction

    "Can one put a price on the ability to leap five stories down and land unharmed? Can one put a price on the speed of the jaguar, the grace of the Palomino? Here at Awakasi, we are happy to say yes, you can." Welcome to The Watch. A world where corporate greed and nationalistic profiteering has corrupted the bright dream of super heroics. Where the secret agendas at the highest ranks of the world's Governments cover up a conspiracy nearly six million years old. The only unaligned supers are The Watch.

    2. 'Slip the Dogs!' (November 2001)

    The Fisher and Adapt are ambushed in the streets of New York by a vicious team of mercenaries hired by the Tanaka Corporation. Meanwhile, deep under the ground the rest of The Watch confront one of the key players in the game. Also, the Potentate storm a castle occupied by a group of super-criminals in Europe.

    3. Rubicon (January 2002)

    The roots of super-humanity lie in the origins of humanity, but what dark agency has manipulated the growth and destiny of our race for the last six million years? A tense battle rages beneath the heat of the desert as Jack, Bones, Fallout and Xenia confront the evil Abbadon in an effort to unlock this secret. In New York City, The Fisher and Adapt discuss the revelations concerning Jack and his true motives and identity. Also, "The Potentate" go into final battle with the sinister terrorist organisation known only as "Blackday".

    4. Vermillion (March 2002)

    The Watch as we knew them have been torn apart by a war in the shadows. Abbadon has taken the life of Xenia. The Fisher has turned his back on the team. Their leader, Jack, has been revealed as having been in league with UNSAP. Now it's two years on, and Jack is founder and CEO of the largest privately controlled grouping of supers on Earth - The Watch Incorporated. We meet new recruits and see old friends in action as The Watch become engaged in a brutal siege. This issue also contains a backup feature - this time featuring the artwork of NICOLA SCOTT.

    5. Dolly (July 2002)

    The worlds first superhumans were created when Awakasi Genetech applied their unique brand of genetic modification to normal human beings. Today all but two of the original Awakasi researchers are dead. Dr Lek Tribe can't take any chances, and enlists The Watch for his protection. Susan Mathews, the team's newest recruit, is assigned the case.
