BiographyHistory

Actor, musician and administrator Penny Glass has had a long association with cultural development in communities of non-English-speaking backgrounds, particularly the Latin American communtiy. A graduate of the University of New South Wales (BA Hons. in French) and the Victorian College of the Arts Drama School, she has worked with the Popular Theatre Troupe, Death Defying Theatre, Order By Numbers and Teatro Unidad y Liberacion. As a musician she also worked with and managed the band Nancahuazu.

During the years 1990 and 1991 Glass lived in Chile, working with many many local actors and theatre groups through the assistance of an individual Professional Development Grant from the Australia Council.

A permanent resident in Chile from 1998, she has made theatre with male prisoners in Santiago since 2002 and is a member of social activist group Colectivo Sustento.
