Mis'ka is a novice warrior sent to do her Rite of Ascension. This is the final test she must face before moving up to become a Warrior Apprentice. She is left alone on the moon-planet Asner Major where she must survive with little water and no food. Failure would mean banishment to an outer colony to work in a mine.
