History

Sponsored by the State Government the New South Wales Sesquicentenary Celebration Prize for a Play was an Australia-wide contest conducted in connection with the Sydney sesqui-centenary celebrations in 1938. First prize was awarded  £125, second prize £25. The judge of the finalists was S. Elliott Napier
