Notes

  • The International Grimm Award was established in 1986. The award aims to promote research into children's literature and to encourage those engaged in such research. The award is offered under the auspices of the International Institute for Children's Literature, Osaka, and supported by the Kinran-kai Foundation. The award recipient must have 'performed outstanding work in research into children's literature and picture books' or 'contributed remarkably to such research and to the promotion of such research'.
