Notes

  • Forty writers, representing every State in the Commonwealth, competed for the special prize of two pounds two shillings offered by the Sydney Mail for the best poem on 'Australian Remounts' in a vein similar to that of 'Canadian Remounts', which we republished from London Punch. The successful competitor is Mollie McNutt, a name well known to readers of the story and verse section of the Mail prior to the war. She lives at Torrington, New South Wales - Sydney Mail 9 August, 1916.
